| CELEBRATING SIXTY YEARS!!St. Joseph’s School celebrated its 60th anniversary at an all-school reunion held on June 6, 2009. Along with commemorating a long tradition of excellence, St. Joseph’s community was celebrating a recent building project that created a new parish social hall, three new kindergarten classrooms, renovated junior high space and a long desired preschool.
Attendees worshiped together at a special celebration liturgy, concelebrated by many of our past clergy. Music was provided by an instrumental ensemble made up of St. Joseph alumni. Special guest musician was Merle Danielson, recently retired band director for over thirty-eight years. He was joined by our new band director, Erin Quinlan, one of Mr. D’s former students!
During the mass past and present faculty and staff were asked to stand and be recognized. Sister George Ann, past principal and member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Crookston, our founding order, received a standing ovation. Past and present School Boards and members of the planning committee were also acknowledged.
The night included a delicious dinner, tours of the building, live music for dancing and opportunities for group photos. Anniversary T-shirts bearing the school’s new logo were available for purchase.
In spite of an all-day deluge, those in attendance had a wonderful time. |
