A History of St. Joseph's School:
St. Joseph’s School of West St. Paul is an accredited parish school, serving students in grades K-8.  Our 2005-2006 enrollment is 680 students.

St. Joseph’s opened its doors in 1949 and was originally staffed by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Crookston.  St. Joseph’s is served by lay faculty and administration.

Faculty Profile
A dedicated group of licensed professionals includes seven males, fourteen specialists and two full-time administrators. Over two-thirds of our faculty / staff  hold advanced degrees.  St. Joseph’s enjoys a reputation for excellence in our local community and throughout the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

Faith Formation
Students in grades K-8 benefit from classroom instruction in the Catholic faith and daily prayer.  Students in second and eighth grade are prepared for and receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation.

Students and staff attend weekly liturgies (Thursday at 9:00 am).  Parents and parishioners are always welcome to join us.  Student participation is a highlight of these liturgies.

Academic Programs
St. Joseph’s offers a challenging and comprehensive curriculum. Beyond the standard academic program that includes religion, mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies, St. Joseph’s employs specialists to teach physical education, music, art, computer literacy and library.  Other program highlights include Spanish, band and special education.

Enrichment/Extra-Curricular Activities
