St. Joseph's School - New Playground Update

Help us build a NEW "Jaguar Jungle"

A committee of Parents, Home and School reps, Teachers and Staff has been established. Parents and students responded to a survey about what your “perfect” playground might include. 348 survey responses from families and students were returned, and the items listed below represent the choices that people would like to see on the new playground. They are listed in order of popularity:

- 26% selected a rock climbing wall
- 21% selected basketball hoops
- 13% selected a web climber
- 8% selected the hitting/handball wall
- 7% selected tetherball
- 6% selected slides
- 6% selected balance beam/activities
- 5% selected monkey bars
- 5% selected a smaller size play set for K-2 students
- 3% selected blacktop games
- Many of you mentioned swings as an additional idea

As the planning committee moves forward, we will incorporate the survey information in the decision process. As we all know, many factors such as cost, landscaping, land availability, etc. will influence how the final playground looks. We are in the initial design phase of the project, and will continue to update you on the progress of the project.
