Forming joyful disciples of Jesus Christ
As students transition to middle school at Saint Joseph, they move into their own separated space in our building. Our middle school program moves from the homeroom setting of the elementary grades to a structure that features academic specialists teaching each subject area. Students benefit from this team of teachers working with them during the three years of middle school.
As a Catholic school, faith is at the heart of all that we do and teach.
Our Middle School students:
Participate in weekly liturgies
Receive daily theological instruction
Participate in community service and pilgrimages
Participate as cast and crew in yearly school musical
Middle school students are given additional responsibilities and we look to them to be leaders and role models for our younger students.
House System
Our middle school house program exists to intentionally form joyful disciples who are courageously charitable and joyful persons of integrity.
Our program cultivates a life of virtue in our student body through monthly formation meetings focused on our virtue and saint of the month.
We host monthly house meetings to foster the growth of teamwork and community while using executive functioning skills on long range projects to support academic excellence.
Our students are formed as courageous leaders through our House Council of student representatives from each house who meet and plan events.
Our students grow in charity as their mentor and serve our younger students through biannual buddy events with our elementary school focused on service.
Finally, every month our whole middle school meets together with great joy for an event convocation where each house competes with integrity to win a competition: from the Winter Olympics, Great Saint Joseph Bake Off, March Madness, to our Annual Lip Sync Battle.
Within our middle school the life of our students exemplifies and fosters the growth of these four virtues: courage, charity, joy, and integrity.
